Patrick R. Person, DDS

Dr. Patrick R. Person has been providing comprehensive dental care to patients in the Memphis and Germantown communities since 1989. A lifelong Memphian, he attended Evangelical Christian School before earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors from the University of Memphis in 1985. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry in 1989.
For more than 37 years, Dr. Person has focused on providing high-quality dentistry while treating every patient with the same care and consideration he would give a member of his own family. He and the team at Person & Darlington Family and Cosmetic Dentistry strive to create a professional, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where patients never feel rushed or treated like a number. Dr. Person values taking the time to get to know his patients, understand their concerns, and build relationships that often span many years and generations.

Dr. Person has extensive experience in restorative, cosmetic, and general dentistry. Over the course of his career, he has completed approximately 20,000 dental crowns, 2,000 bridges, 2,000 root canal cases, 1,000 implant restorations, and thousands of additional restorative and cosmetic procedures. He has provided restorative and cosmetic dentistry throughout his 37-year career, has been restoring dental implants for approximately 30 years, and has offered clear aligner treatment for more than 20 years.

Continuing education has remained an important part of Dr. Person’s approach to dentistry. He has completed more than 800 hours of continuing education after dental school, including training in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, orthodontics and clear aligners, endodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and periodontal therapy. He has also completed multi-day advanced training in orthodontics and endodontics and has received training in Invisalign® and SureSmile® clear aligner systems.

Dr. Person combines his clinical experience with modern dental technology to support accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, patient education, and comfort. The practice utilizes CBCT 3D imaging, digital panoramic and dental X-rays, digital impressions and intraoral scanning, intraoral cameras, guided implant technology, and endodontic apex locators. Digital impressions have been part of the practice for approximately 10 years, and CBCT technology was recently added to further enhance diagnostic and treatment-planning capabilities.

Patients are often pleased to learn that services such as clear aligner treatment and root canal therapy can be provided directly in the office. Dr. Person also values the trust reflected in the many patients who come to the practice through referrals from existing patients and dental specialists throughout the area. The practice has earned hundreds of five-star Google reviews, reflecting the team’s longstanding commitment to personal attention, modern dentistry, and consistent care.

Dr. Person has been recognized by Memphis Magazine as one of Memphis’ Top Dentists every year since 2008. He is a member of the American Dental Association®, the Tennessee Dental Association and the Memphis Dental Society.
